Who Studies at Madrid University?

Language students at Madrid University come from diverse backgrounds and enroll at the university for a variety of reasons. Some come as part of their formal academic training, some wish to obtain the Diploma of Spanish as a Foreign Language (DELE), and yet others study for professional development or personal enrichment.

About Madrid University’s Spanish Programs

Several programs are offered throughout the year with courses in Spanish Language and Culture at the six levels of language proficiency specified by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (A1-C2).

Programs can be taken individually or in conjunction. With the beginning of each new program, students will progress by one proficiency level (for example, from A1 to A2). Students can also enroll in multiple programs in order to complete a full academic-year of study (September through May).

The programs emphasize hand-in-hand training of language and culture supported by an experienced team of teaching professionals and aided by small class sizes. Three to six cultural visits are included in each program, and numerous extra-curricular activities designed to increase the student's contact with Spanish life and culture are available at extra cost.

The University of Madrid provides a friendly, international setting for Spanish language studies, providing students with free access to computer labs, libraries, rest areas and cafeterias, as well as extra paid services such as accommodation.
